Goal

The aim of the Intelligent Infrastructure Challenge is to unlock innovative ideas that utilise intelligent infrastructure and associated transport technologies to solve the problems facing UK transport.

Background

Increasingly the UK highways sector is recognising the opportunities, potential and benefits of intelligent infrastructure and other technology-based solutions. But the key challenge remains how to accelerate the uptake of these technologies within the sector and its established supply chains. A key part of Highways UK's remit is to identify, promote and discuss innovations and technologies that enable benefits to the network. We are looking to showcase solutions which provide clear benefits to the big issues of safety, pollution, cost and congestion.

Judges

The judges represent the road transport industry at national, regional, local and city levels. They select the finalists who will present their ideas at Highways UK in a "dragons' den" style format
