Highways UK Laureates
Celebrating the sector's extraordinary people
The highways sector is on the cusp of a new era, heralded both by fast-developing technology and critical environmental concerns. We want to acknowledge those individuals who are leading change across our industry, including the public sector, private sector, universities, manufacturers, technology companies, campaign groups and NGOs.
We need your help to identify potential 2019 Laureates so we can acknowledge and celebrate those whose knowledge, leadership and passion are helping to shape, inspire and influence the roads infrastructure for a modern Britain.
Laureates (closing date for nominations, 31 May)
To nominate a Highways UK Laureate, please complete the short on-line form here by 31 May. Initiating the process is straightforward; we ask for the nominee's name and full job title and for you to tell us why, in no more than 150 words, you believe they deserve to be recognised as a 2019 Highways UK Laureate. We'll also need your name and full job title.
Associate Laureates (closing date for nominations, 28 June)
Highways UK also welcomes nominations for Associate Laureates. These will be selected from a shortlist of younger, mid-career individuals (those with about a decade's experience in the sector) who have already demonstrated the attributes that set them apart as future industry leaders - particularly in terms of their expertise, passion and communicative ability.
To nominate an Associate Laureate, please complete the on-line form here by 28 June. Within the form we ask for the following information.
Your nominee's name and full job title
A summary of their route into the sector including relevant education, training and professional qualifications (100 words)
A summary of their career experience and highlights (100 words)
Your view, in no more than 200 words, of why this person deserves the accolade of Associate Laureate: how they have demonstrated (and still are demonstrating) the knowledge, expertise and skills that mark them out as a future leader and how they contribute to the sector, beyond their day job.
Your name and full job title
Highways UK Laureates and Associate Laureates will be decided by the Highways UK Laureates Committee, led by our inaugural (2018) Highways UK Laureate Ginny Clarke, CBE.
Laureates Award Dinner, 6 November
Our 2019 Laureates and Associate Laureates will be presented with their award at the annual Highways UK Laureate Awards Dinner, running on the first day of the annual Highways UK event at the NEC, Birmingham on 6/7 November.
